Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha. I lost him, and was (am) very, very sad. (wails) My poor keychain!!

It was beautiful, really. At least, it seemed that way to him. He always liked to watch the play of it during their long travels. It would wave in the most interesting patterns. Curling, twisting, combining into tangles then separating without a single directing motion other than the wind. He wondered if they realized that it was playing out such a dance behind them. Probably not, since neither of them have eyes in the back of their heads. He giggled a little at the thought of someone with eyes on the wrong side of their head, and how hard it would be to see, or to walk!
Soon enough, though, his mind was drawn back to the lovely patterns swaying in front of him. He liked the tints that this uncontained tango made, as well as the forms. The two sides were so different, and yet would blend together perfectly throughout the dance, creating a multitude of shades, too many to name. He always wondered how almost everything managed to become blurred between the two of them. Maybe this elaborate dance that he loved to watch was just a physical representation of the emotional and mental battle that went on between them virtually every day. Or maybe he was just thinking too much.
But, he surely did love watching as the white and black mixed together to form all the different shades of gray. Yet, to his mind's eye… he could see all the colors of the rainbow. And he loved finding color in black and white.

So, how'd you like? Was it confusing? Do you know who the people are, who's p.o.v. this is, and what's dancing? … If not, read on.
I'll tell you what I was thinking of, because I know that, personally, I like knowing what the author themselves thought, so I can compare and contrast my own ideas about the fic. So, here goes.
The people are Inuyasha and Kagome, the pov is Shippo's, and their hair is what's dancing! The colors of the rainbow signify all the different emotions that make up their complicated relationship.
At first I thought of having Shippo see Inu's red clothing through the black/white of their hair and say something about hidden love, but then I realized that'd be kinda cliché, and wouldn't really encompass the whole of the InuKag relationship. … Plus, I like rainbows.
So there you have it. My author's explanation of this fic. If anybody had a different idea about what this fic was talking about, I'd love to hear it. But that means you have to review!
Mwa ha ha. And so my plan begins to work!!
(And these author's notes are almost as long as the fic itself… Sorry, 'bout that, I just wanted to explain.)
