Chapter 1
He Seems To Be Drunk
Ellie and her friend James (after she hears his elaborate scheme to finally win over Lilly) make a little bet. The consequences, however, are simple: Winner kisses the loser in front of everyone.
James was sitting there in the Gryffindor common room bent over a long roll of parchment. Ellie had just walked in and couldn't believe her eyes. Was James doing homework? One of the marauders (other than Remus) being attentive with their homework? She rushed over to him immediately and poked him in the back.
"My, my, my…" she said. "James Potter has finally learned, has he? We just can't have this…A marauder! Doing their homework!" James looked up and grinned at his friend. Ellie was taller than him by half an inch and had grey eyes and red hair whereas James had bespectacled hazel eyes and messy black hair. There was a huge difference in appearance, but Ellie and he were two peas in a pod.
Ellie frowned when she didn't get a response. "Actually, Ellie, you will be most pleased to be informed that I am not doing my homework!" Ellie smiled at this remark. "Actually," James began. "I am writing a simple plan to win over the love of my life!" And Ellie frowned again and laid her hands on her hips. "James whatever-your-middle-name-is Potter, you are the school heartthrob and don't you dare deny it! You could have any frickin' girl you want and instead you chase longingly after someone who HATES YOU!" she scolded.
James rolled his eyes, causing the other girls to swoon (many of the female students found this attractive). "I could…but with this plan I won't need to!" he exclaimed, kissing the piece of parchment and handing it to Ellie. "I shall begin by wiping your spit off this James!" she said, scrubbing off the document with the sleeve of her robes, smudging the ink and causing it to become unreadable. "Damn it!" she cursed. "My dear, Ellie, please do not worry!" James said, taking her hand and pretending to kiss it. Ellie pulled her hand away. "For I have memorized this ingenious plan!" James said.
Ellie rolled her eyes, causing quite a few boys to swoon, whether she knew it or not. "I believe you are drunk James Potter," she declared. "I do not wish to hear your retarded, delusional plan that I guarantee you will not work!" "Ah yes, Ellie, but alas, it will! Only because it is so delusional and stupid will it work!" "James, you make me sick," she retorted. "Why thank you," he replied mockingly, running his hands through his hair, causing Ellie's heart to miss a beat, although she didn't notice.
"James you claim you could move on, don't you?" she asked. He nodded. "Well, I don't think you can. James, we should bet. If you can go 2 months dating another girl and not trying to impress Lilly, well, we'll think of something…" she said. James had the perfect idea. He sniggered. "Loser kisses Snivellus!" he said. Ellie shuddered and revolted. "Hell not, as you are a boy!" James' mood toned down a bit as he had not realized this fault in his plan. "Winner has to kiss loser," she said.
James smiled. He would love to kiss Ellie. And it was a perfect downside. If Ellie lost, Lilly would become jealous making Ellie jealous and James really wanted Ellie jealous because he knew she would go to Sirius and Sirius liked Ellie. And he knew Ellie would love to kiss him so it was a win-win. "You're on, Ells."
