So as it's Father's Day this week I thought I'd write a Gaius and Merlin one, mainly because I have been binge watching the entire series, but also because they have such a lovely father/son relationship. This one is also dedicated to my dad.
Annapurna
The laughter in his eyes,
Crinkles into age worn skin,
Along familiar lines,
Etched across the years,
The story of each smile,
Imprinted indelibly in his features,
Marred only by the sorrow of his
Kindly heart, broken for others,
As he performs his vocation,
Mending mind and body,
Ever hopeful in his pursuits,
Endeavouring to bring peace to a
Household once more,
His eyes, watching my footsteps,
By my side when I stumble,
To lift me to my feet again,
And offer stern words of comfort,
He does not often say what is in his heart,
It is too much; the words do not exist,
For what he feels,
So instead his eyes twinkle,
His heart burns,
His soul counsels,
While his lips say:
'Eat your soup.'
