Chapter 1
Dawn. A time signifying beginnings and new birth. For centuries, poets and authors alike have testified of its beauty.
Singing birds. Blooming buds. The rustle of leaves. Sunbeams that filter in through the curtains.
You see, I very much admire these writers and their ballads. I really do. However, in all the poems I've read about the dawn, there is one thing that never fails to irk me. For every time a morning rhyme graces my eyes its author always forgets to mention one very important detail. In fact it is a detail so substantial that I begin to question their powers of observation.
The damn fucking alarm clock.
*SMACK*
Ahh, problem solved.
'Yeah, mornings…Aren't they lovely?' thought Tatsuki as she begrudgingly dragged her tired and bruised body out of bed. The bruises were routine for her; a constant companion it seemed. Heck, she's a black belt, and a rough one at that. Enough said? However, the swollen black and blue lump on her foot was beginning to annoy even her:
*Step* 'Ow, pain.' *Step* 'Shit, more pain.'
"Fuck…I really hate mornings."
That, and the numbskulls whose rock-hard heads nearly broke her foot yesterday. Well, that's what they get for challenging her strength and calling her a short, flat-chested toenail painting kid who hits like a girl. 'Damn right I hit like a girl, and they'd better not forget it.'
*Step* (or should I say limp)
Of course, she admits it probably wasn't the best idea since one of those punks wore a biker helmet. Oh well, her foot would heal. Their pride wouldn't.
Those were the events of yesterday. She knew today would be hardly different.
"And so begins another boring day at Karakura High" she sighed.
However, as Tatsuki was soon to find out, this day was going to be far from routine
Yeah, I intentionally changed from first to third person, just so you know. Anyway, here's the first chapter in all its short glory. Hopefully the ones to come will be longer.
Btw, I might end up changing this story to first person permanently, just because Tatsuki is that awesome. Also, I intend to break the fourth wall many many times.
