The Perfect Prank

The boat underneath him rocked as the water warned them of the upcoming danger; the small island that was forever under a storm. This Island held the most fearsome place in the world. The prison where he was destined to live until he died was fast approaching.

But he didn't care. Not anymore. There was nothing left for him anyways. It was his entire fault, him and his stupid pranks. The irony was that he had pulled the biggest prank of them all, and no one knew. He had the biggest secret that was not a secret, since he shouted it out as they threw him on to the boat, but no one believed him. For this prank that was supposed to ruin the enemy, had been twisted.

He had thought it to be fool proof. Just a basic switch-a-rue, lead the enemy off of the correct path. The insane man was supposed to go after him. Supposed to chase him, torture, lock him up, and possibly even kill him. He would've gone down fighting, taking out each and every one of those filthy followers, killing as many as he could. All the while the stupid maniac would've lost all those men for nothing. For He wasn't the one; he wasn't the guy that knew the answer to the question. And that would've been the greatest prank of them all. He would have died happy.

The boat gave another rock, this one harsher than the last. They were getting closer. Already he was starting to see his life and happiness leave his mouth in the form of little clouds. Another rock hit, almost flipping the tiny little boat they sat in. One of the officials fell next to him, immediately jumping away. Fright and disgust marred her face. He had known this woman; went to school with her, and she acted like they'd just met. For a second he almost laughed, he had always found it funny how easily people could change their mind on others just because of assumptions. There was a time when he would have laughed about it with his friends. They used to always get in to situations like this… ok so not as bad as this, but almost none of their pranks went the way they were supposed to. Sometimes they were better, and others they flopped. But they were always funny. People always laughed at his actions, his pranks, now the only one laughing was him. Him and the enemy.

"you like Jokes?" the man's red eyes had glared at him in the dark, the spells of distant fights making them flash, " well I bet I have the best one."

He didn't believe the man that drifted in to the night, leaving his minions to fend for themselves. He had gotten arrogant, believing that he could one up the insane. The arrogance leads to laziness and mistakes. Looking back he could see everything that went wrong. How if he had just taken a step back he would have seen all of the signs. He would have been able to stop the mistake. Lily, his best friend's wife; Beautiful, smart, Lilly had always told him that he would lose control of the pranks one day, and then people would get hurt. Now he wished he had listened to her. and now Because of his arrogance, he had lost.

And that man won, That evil man did have the best prank, his.
