Charles Beckendorf
"I'm Silena Beauregard." She said as she looked up at him, a soft smile lighting up her face.
"Beckendorf." He said gruffly.
"Beckendorf…..what?" She asked, confused, and he felt the corners of his lips turn upwards, as he fought an oncoming smile.
"Charles Beckendorf. I generally go by my last name though." He corrected as he looked down into her large blue eyes. He watched as she tucked a strand of her long hair behind her ear before twirling the end around her finger absentmindedly.
"Well…..would you mind if I called you Charlie?"
He ran a hand through his dark hair and looked up at the cotton-candy blue sky. Normally he would have said yes, he did mind, but then again this wasn't normal.
"Nope." He finally said as he looked down at her again.
"Charlie it is." She concluded. "Walk with me?"
He nodded and fell into step beside her as they strolled towards the cabins.
"You know…..you're the only one whose ever called me Charlie." He mumbled and she laughed softly as she looked down before up at him.
"I guess that makes me special doesn't it?"
"I guess so."
She blushed slightly at that and looked down. He felt a hint of a grin hovering on his face as he shoved his hands in his pockets.
They walked in comfortable silence for a few moments before they came upon the cabins and she stopped. She looked up into his dark eyes as he turned to face her.
"It was nice meeting you, Charlie." She said as he held her gaze causing her to blush again.
"You too…."He murmured as he tried to stop the smile that was threatening to take over.
"Well….." She said and he nodded before they each turned their separate ways. He headed over to the Hephaestus cabin where he could hear a few of his brothers talking.
"Oh and Charlie!" He turned at the sound of her voice, a bit surprised and not use to the new nickname.
"Yes….."
"You know, it's okay to smile once in a while."
He looked at her for a moment, standing there in front of the pale blue cabin with two doves above the door before he answered her with a smile.
"Charlie, eh?" He heard his half-brother Jake behind him, standing in the doorway of their cabin.
"Shut up." He said but he grinned to himself.
