Letter
Hey everyone, this is Cherishly again . This is a nice, but sad story of when Ninian dies. I do not own any part of Fire Emblem. Thank you for reading this.
The moonlight shone down on the two men as they hammered a piece of paper to a grave. Thunk, thunk, thunk as metal hit stone. A wolf's howl echoed through the dark mist. Finally, the nail was driven into the grave. Hanging from this nail was a piece of crinkled, but still legible white paper. One of the men stood up, brushed the dirt off his tunic, and commented to his friend, "Pretty night eh? All the stars in the black blanket above are out."
"Yeah, I find it purdy." His friend lifted himself up, looked at the empty field around them, then back at the grave, "Too bad this beauty that died, say she was stabbed by her true love, couldn't be here to see it." He smoothed some dirt off the grave pitifully.
"Hmm, the man, I believe Pherae's Prince Eliwood, was quite persistent on having this letter nailed to the grave. Wife…lover…friend? Who knows, but you can tell it hurt him every time he said her name."
"Depressing." His friend agreed, "Now speaking of wife, I have my own to get back to. She's probably wondering where I am."
"Yeah. Got a sick sis'r to take care of too. She came down with the flu, and it's uh uh ugly." The two men walked away from the grave, to continue on with their lives. The wind gusted at the letter, and if you were there, you would have read the words upon it:
Ninian,
You put your trust in me
To travel from sea to sea
Protecting you
Through thick or thin
I never wanted it to end with Fin
But you had a secret
Behind your smile
It took me a long time
To figure it out
I took the flaming sword
And without a word
Pierced your heart
No one could believe it
No even me
That your crimson eyes,
We could no longer see
But what I miss most
Is not your hair
Is not your loving stare
Or your endless care
It's when I made you happy
You would smile
And I would stare for a while
I would love to trade places with you
Be the one lying in the ground
If you could smile again
If you are reading this in heaven
I ask of you
With every part of this heart of mine
If you could spare me a smile
One last time…
Eliwood
