Black Widow

A short "story" in Tsunade's point of view of how all the men in her life always end up dead.

Young Tsunade

"Why does he have to die so young? He barely got a chance to know what life was like..." The young Tsunade thought to herself while the tears were streamlining, streaking down her beautiful porcelian face, now hardened by the death of her preacious younger brother.

1 year later

"No, no, no, No, No, NO, NO, NO!" Tsunade screamed aloud and in her mind.

"He can't die this way! Not with so much promise of life! Why must he be robbed of that beauty? He was... going... to.. do... gre..at.... things..." Tsunade managed to whisper out of her heart-wrenching sobs for her beloved. Knowing she could never have him back to tell him how much she...

Tsunade's POV before she met Naruto.

"I am just a black widow. I kill every man I ever manage to love."

"To prevent anyone else from dying because they love me, I will scorn love and friendship. I will become the hard and distant old lady I was ment to be, and die alone. Because that is the fate of the black widow. I make a vow of this"

That was the conclusion she had come to after all those years from those two deaths of those two men, most important to her. After all those nights of tossing and turning, yearning for somthing more. That was before she became Hokage, before she saw Jiryaya and Orochimaru again, before Orochimaru made his offer to erase her pain, to ease her suffering, and fill the void forever, that was before she refused him.

When she saw Jiryaya again after all those years of admiration and secrets Tsunade was very close to breaking that vow she had made all those years ago, when she left the Leaf. But she was not strong enough to resist the number-knuckle headed ninja. Tsunade had not ever been yelled at by another kid since her brother had died. There was something about Naruto's determination that made her think

"Shit, I can't care for anyone else. I just can't..."

Slowly but surely she is coming to learn how to care for people again. Learning on how to be a good leader, strong yet kind (or as kind as she can get)

But everytime she looks at the ever persistant ninja, Tsunade always remembers her vow to herself. She will always know her true form. Her true spirit. And we all know black widows aren't suited for a mate.
