Disclaimer- I don't own supernatural.

It was never fair. It hadn't been his time to leave them. But he had and he'd done it out of his love for the both of them. He had saved them both from their own deaths.

2 young men stood in front of a cement slab near freshly buried soil. The slab read:

John Winchester

1967-2006

Beloved father

And friend

Neither of the two shed tears. Neither of them hugged and comforted one another. They stood in a comfortable silence.

Dean Winchester was almost dead when the semi truck had crashed into his beloved Impala. He knew he should be dead… in place of his fathers name should be his. He blamed himself for everything.

Sam Winchester stood beside his older brother.. knowing he needed comfort but not able o find the words to help him.

They were both battered and bruised… broken down really, trying to regain any reminisce of what there mother and father had been, looked like. Both were tired and sick but had driven back anyways. Bobby had fixed the Impala up for Dean… saying it was the only thing that their daddy had left em,' which had near brought Dean to tears alone… knowing that their father would never be able to sit in the backseat with them and tell them stories like he had when they'd been kids. Terrified of the hunts that they were on.

It was wearing them down. Knowing that they had no one but each other left.

So they did what they had been taught to do since the day of the fire which had taken their mother from them at such a young age. They buried their grief and sadness with their father. As well as their fear.

They never looked back at that day again. Never went back to the two slabs of stone that stood one beside the other that was the only thing that represented their parents lives and for they had stood for.

They had never cried, never dwelled to long in their sorrow. Knowing that it would consume them if they stayed to long.

So they continued on, looking out for one another. Knowing in their hearts that it had been John's, their fathers, loved and courage that kept them alive and going.
