there was once a guy who was very much in love with this girl. His name is Athrun Zala.

The gorgeous Athy-kun with emerald captivating orbs that captures each young lady's heart.

This athrun have a girlfriend Cagalli Yula Attha. A simple girl, tomboy-ish, has a rude attitude, but a sweet girlfriend whom he loves so dearly,

Athrun folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to his girl, each had "iLoveyou" and a kiss mark. . Although, at that time he was just a small executive in his company, his future doesn't seemed too bright, but they were very happy together.

Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris…

" Do you really love me athrun? " she said as amber and emerald orbs met.

" yeah baby, I love you so much! "

" then.. "

" then what?? "

"then please let me go.. "

His heart was ripped open..

" but why? I love you so much cagalli! Have I done something wrong?"

" no you didn't do anything.. it's not you, it's me "

" but baby… "

" please..if you really love me then let me go. "

" but can you tell me why all the sudden you're gonna leave me? You're gonna leave this relationship? "

" I see no good future with you athrun." She kissed hijm on the cheeks and ran away.

Athrun stood there. Felt numb. He felt his heart was suffering through razor blades and lemon juice. HE FELT SO MUCH PAIN!

For days.. he didn't eat, he did not sleep, he did not talk to anyone.

He was just staring blankly on the open space and reminiscing her face.

When he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself. Finally with all these hardwork and with the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company...

"You never fail until you stop trying." he always told himself. "I must make it in life!"

One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realize those were his ex-girlfriend's parents. With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan. He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same anymore he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He had made it in life!

"what the?" he gasped seeing them.

"they have to see me! Hahaha.. I want them fancy me! I am no longer the stupid, idiotic looser their daughter had hurt! "

Before the he can realise, the couple was walking towards a cemetary,..

and he got out of his car and followed them...

and he saw his ex-girlfriend..his Cagalli , a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone...

and he saw his precious papercranes in a bottle placed beside her tomb.

Her parents saw him.

" athrun? " via (cagalli's mother) called out.

" yes, madam.. I missed you.."

" we missed you too boy.. " Uzumi Nara Attha replied.

"what happened???" athrun questioned.

" Dear boy, Cagalli did not leave for france at all."

"what?"

"She was stricken ill with cancer." Uzumi continued.

" Athrun.. in her heart. There was only you. She believed that you will make it in life someday." Via told him as tears rolled down out of her eyes.

" She did not want her illness to be your obstacle. She loves you."

" so she chose to leave me."

" she wanted those papercranes beside her. Because, if the day comes when fate brings you to her again. You cant take some of them back."

Athrun wept. He loved cagalli so much. he is sitting right next to her. Knowing he can no longer have her back. Nor see her ever again.
