The team was yet to solve another case and was therefore still working as the sun outside began to set. Tao was checking the victims phone record at his desk. Sykes and Sanchez were still out questioning neighbors and Provenza and Flynn were going through the victims belonging when Sharon had decided to join them.
"Hey Sharon come here. Look what I've found in the victims wallet."
She walked over to him to take a look at the piece of paper he was holding.
"Isn't that..?"
"Yes, it's a ticket for the Japanese Art Museum Gallery that we went to last month."
Sharons mind wandered back to that day. How Andy had picked her up, looking very attractive in his new suit. He had complimented her appearance and offered his arm to her. A blush crept across her face and they walked to his car with linked arms.
The evening had gone by all to fast. They really enjoined each others company and so the time flew by way too fast. They had inspected the art pieces and she was surprised how genuinely interested he seemed to be. He never struck her as an lover of art.
Afterwards they had gone to a small restaurant to eat a late dinner. Just as she finished her dessert she caught a mischievous grin on his face.
"What?"
"Nothing.", his grin grew wider, "It's just... would you like to dance?"
There were a couple of pairs dancing in one corner of the restaurant. A small smile was all he needed as answer so he stood up and led her to the dance floor. It was a rather slow song playing so he pulled her near, nearer than she had expected. They swayed to the music and as Andy was whispering something into her ear, he put both his hands on her waist so her hand slid up to his shoulders. His scent caught in her nose and had her body flushed with a comforting warmth.
The same scent she is smelling now, standing so close to him in the murder room.
"Crazy to think we maybe saw our victim there before, huh?"
Oh God did he notice how her mind had wandered of there for a moment?, she asked herself.
Well if he did he didn't let it show. He proceeded to lift another box of possible evidence onto the desk in front them, but Sharons attention was fully caught up in the way his arms flexed under the heavy boxes and his rolled up sleeves.
He caught her staring at him and gave her a funny look but looked all too pleased with himself.
Oh god she needed to concentrate, she told herself.
But as soon his hand slid across the small of her back as he walked past her to answer his phone at his desk, she was lost again.
Where even was Provenza? It would be so much easier to hold it together with their chaperon watching their ever move, but he went to break room moments ago to get them all some coffee.
As Andy came back he stopped short behind her to whisper in her ear:"Nicole just called to thank you for the birthday presents for the kids. I told you she would never believe me that I came up with this idea."
The low rumble of his voice sent a shiver down her spine and made her mind go to places she usually never dared to visit while at work. The desk before her never seemed to inherent so many different possibilities for usage.
She heard a small chuckle from her left and saw Andy looking at her. She suddenly felt exposed.
"I hope mind reading really is not a thing. Cough if you can read minds!" , she thought while looking at him.
While she scanned his face for any kind of reaction and simultaneously feeling rather ridiculous, a cough on her right startled her.
"Captain? I think I found something.", Tao declared with a sly smirk.
