Five years

"It's been five years since I've been here. The first and last time was right before Booth's "fake" death. I had thought I had lost him forever and didn't know what to do so I worked and worked until I found out that he was alive. Right before I punched him I thanked God or whoever is out there that you missed, and that he was alive.

The few days after I found myself drawn to him… Well more then usual anyway. He helped calm me down after what happened with Zach. We all helped each other really, but his helping was more significant to me. He was my shoulder to cry on.

I'm here now to let you know a few things. I do love him I always have, and probably always will. You almost took him from me. I can understand why you pulled the trigger in the first place though. You wanted him for yourself and I understand that, I feel the same way- except I won't kill anyone for him. I'd rather just let him go and fake a smile when I see him.

Especially when he's with her, and especially today. Today they got married- a day I hoped I'd never see happen and never thought would- because a part of me thought he'd tell me he loved me and we'd be together. That dream obviously didn't come true for me. Now all I can do is look back on all the memories I have and hope they'll be enough for me.

Five years ago I always knew they had a past, but they were just friends and nothing more then. If they were they hid it well. Almost anyways, Angela had always said they were more; I just refused to see it or believe. I guess I have to face the facts now.

Pam on that day five years ago you shot him, and I thought you'd have taken him away from me forever. Now I know that you pushed them together, closer then they were before. And today she is now Mrs. Seeley Booth instead of me.

I guess I'm trying to say I forgive you because you never tried to take him from me. You just tried to take her from him. Something that hopefully will never happen, because he'd hurt too much from the pain it'd cause.

I need to go now, the reception is about to start. Here's the program." I told the grave as I left the cemetery.
