Iroh was not perfect.

He had made many mistakes, done stupid things, cruel things, anything to please his nation and his family. In his long lifetime, he had taken many wrong turns and gone down many dark roads (Ba Sing Se was one of the darkest).

But through his errors and the darkness, he learned to see good in everything. He learned to appreciate nature and art and culture and whatever life threw at him. He learned to appreciate his true self.

So, when Zuko found himself scarred and banished and full of confusion, Iroh was more than willing to lend some light on his dark journey.

Author's Notes: Iroh-centric. D I really need to write more Iroh, so I figured giving him complete spotlight would be a good idea.
