There were many pros in relevance to finally permitting Lissa share a tent with Lon'qu: the cuddling, the lovely mornings as he awakened each and every morning at her side – as he should be, and in general, their plain alone time, all that the two cherished closely.
Unfortunately, there were also cons – not that they were antagonizing, but at times, they could not get too intimate without having that damn sensation looming about that they were conceivably on check by one of the units.
Lon'qu did not know that Lissa was a frequent sufferer of insomnia. It was perhaps around four times (in his knowledge) in which she had roused him up from his slumber – guilt in her tone, and whisper pettily that she could not fall asleep. Of course, he couldn't simply overlook her and return to sleep, as he always found himself comforting her until dawn hit.
Check that, it was now five times.
The myrmidon was trying to let sleep overcome his senses, until he sensed the small bundle in his arms writhing out of his grip. Promptly, Lon'qu gazed at Lissa, eyes half-lidded. "Lissa?"
The blonde royal flashed him a sheepish half-smile, and curled back into his embrace. "I can't sleep…" she muttered quietly into his broad chest. "And my arm was falling numb…"
"Oh, the irony," he flatly commented, draping his arms suitably around her body to hold her as close as he could. Nonetheless, the swordsman went on to stroke her loose, golden locks as he pressed a forgiving kiss to her forehead. "It's okay," he began, right before she could utter an apology, "I couldn't sleep, anyway."
"Well, at least I'm not alone," she jested weakly, unable to subdue the giggle that wheezed through her lips.
Lon'qu entangled their legs as he merely countered with, "Exactly, woman, because I'm always here."
Successfully muting her shut, Lissa buried her face into his chest once more, merely savoring his presence. Gentle pecks were planted as well as a sign of appreciation, and received a grunt of approval in response. After a while of caresses and murmuring sweet nothings, her eyelids gave out, as she was out like a light.
Dawn was settling, but he preferred to stay within their tent to make sure she could slumber. He was far too comfortable, anyway.
