Authors Note: Ignore the epilogue from the books, because my version went in a very different direction. And if you're expecting a lot of explanations and backstories of how our favorite characters from the original series came to be where they are, you probably won't get them in this story. I'll be writing others that will curb your curiosity. For now, just take Lunarose and be happy with it. I do not own Harry Potter, J.K Rowling does, the clever woman!

Prologue: An Introduction

Every story has a beginning; that fact is irrefutable. And what story can there be without a character? So I am choosing to begin with the introduction of a girl who was christened Lunarose Malfoy, whose birth sparked the writing of this story.

I will skip ahead several years, because I don't have the patience to write about her childhood, as the interesting bits well be mentioned later on, anyway. I'll stick to the important stuff.

We find Lunarose Malfoy bording the train to- oh yes, you guessed it- Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She has already said goodbye to her parents, who Disapparated away with tears in their eyes. Their little Rosa, finally going to Hogwarts.

Lunarose Malfoy is ordinary looking. She has wavy dirty blonde hair that is obviously quite unmanagable. She'd been told that she had a nose just like her mother, and grey eyes like her father. She takes her seat on the Hogwarts Express, excitement coarsing through her eleven-year-old body. She is later sorted into the same house as her mother, and joins her house for a feast in the Great Hall.

I'll fast forward to the end of her first year. She returns home, her joy much cooled since departing for Hogwarts. It hadn't been quite what she'd expected. It had been, well... boring. No grand adventures. No mysterious and dark wizards. She hadn't even gotten into trouble. It was an uneventful year.

She'd told her mother as much, and she chuckled to herself. "You should be glad you didn't get into trouble, Rosa. Sometimes, I wish your father and I had been so lucky."

I'll fast forward again, to Lunarose's fourth year. For, this is when the story truly begins. Then again, perhaps there is no real place to start, because who can say where this tale began?

For you people who actually read my little "prologue", I apologize for it being so short. I suspect that many of the chapters will be like this, but I'll be able to update more often if I don't make them too long. Sometimes I overestimate myself to keep stories going!
