The Healing Process
by PhoenixRae
NOT BAD, WOLF BOY," taunted Faith as she sparred with the well over six foot four teenager who doesn't even look like a teenager given his physique. He said it had something to do with his transformation, and she believed him. His body was muscular, sculpted like some artist took a scalpel and just...sculpted him! B saved him from some vamps a few weeks back, but based on what the blonde Slayer said, Jacob Black could fend for his own. And since she started sparring with him Faith knew her sister Slayer wasn't bluffing. He knew how to throw some serious punches and kicks that actually hurt although he kept on holding himself back, especially when he was sparring with either her or B. With the probies she didn't mind him holding back, but on her she wanted him to give it his all and then some. It was what makes their sparring matches all the worth while.
"Don't call me that," snarled the teenager and lunged forward, striking the lithe brunette.
Faith's response was a smirk and putting out her foot, catching Jacob on the stomach and making him double over. She was throwing no punches and she sure as hell wasn't being easy on him. She learned her lesson the first time they sparred; the kid's got mojo strength working for him and she learned not to overestimate that.
"Whatever gets your juices flowing, Wolf Boy," she continued taunting him. She liked sparring with him when he was pissed. He was giving it his all in a fight when he was miffed, and that was what Faith wanted from him. He needed to heal and if fighting was one of the things that could help him, then so be it!
Buffy had a different way of letting him deal with his pain and Faith had her own way. She knew Jacob didn't want to be coddled; he was a fighter for crying out loud! He had so much pent-up energy needed to be unleashed, and he'd come in handy when they patrol.
Faith made a mental note to take him out on patrol with her this evening just the two of them. She wanted to see if he was able to handle his own against non-vamp enemies. He was training with the Potentials and Giles was teaching him some Demonology; he was armed with enough knowledge to combat other kinds of the supernatural out there other than his usual pale-faced, non-breathing, marble-skinned foes.
With a snarl Jacob faked a left then went for the right and caught Faith unaware with his arm thrust out and hitting her square on the chest, knocking the breath out of her. Faith stumbled backwards but she didn't fall flat on her back; that only miffed the young wolf even more. And so their song and dance number began while the rest of the Potentials - and B, who just returned from her meeting with the cause of Jacob's anger looking so damn satisfied - watched and cheered.
Jacob arrived a good fifteen minutes before B did. He didn't look like he was in any kind of mood when Faith ran in to him after she finished training some of the Potentials, and she knew the remedy to help him let off steam: sparring. For now it was one of the things helping him heal.
