A/N: The first 50 words of this came to me in relation to the long fic that I'm working on, but I've since discovered that there's nowhere that it'll fit in, so it gets its own story. Not betaed. Dedicated to the lovely aries_taurus.
Summary: Cop humour—is Charlie ever going to get it?
"Statistically, just how dead am I?"
There was a horrified silence before Charlie managed to say, "Don, that's not funny."
"Come on, it's a little bit funny." Don held up his hand, finger and thumb apart half an inch, a grin on his face.
"No it really isn't," Charlie insisted.
"It is when you're on the good drugs," David said from the doorway, laughter in his voice.
"David! Hi!" Don said enthusiastically. "How's it going?"
David grinned. "See?"
Don poked his tongue out at both of them.
Charlie's brow furrowed in disbelief as he shook his head at his brother.
