Beginings

Once upon a time, there was a small little freshman. She went to her very first day of band camp and learned four names. The next day, neither alarm nor mother could drag her out of bed for one more day in hell. Again on Wednesday, the young girl found herself unable to return. Finally, her friends called her, saying she was missed and that it really did get better. With much trepidation, she managed to get to the school on Thursday. She was a tad bit embarrassed when she had to be pulled aside to find what a slide was, seeing as she missed out on it the prior day. By the end of that Friday, she was almost caught up with the rest of the freshman. The second week was even harder, but the young girl persevered and it did not seem so daunting. Although, she was still near-mute when yelling out "Pride." Four years blew by in a flash, and she found herself among the best of them, executing every move with near perfection, and being the loudest cheerer of them all. She hopes that college will be the same way- easier than it looks. Her mind knows you just have to get through the first day, and then everything will get better, but her heart finds it hard to believe.
The young girl does not believe in fortune cookies, but one in particular has always held true to her heart: Begin, the rest is easy.
