December Snow
White flakes of December snow fell on a pale Asian girl's face as she looked up toward the sky, tongue out and eyes closed. She twirled and whirled in her black baggy jeans, army boots and pink mesh sweater, yellow trench coat flying out around her, while her friend and former teammate stood, blue fur partially covered by a heavy olive green sweater and a pair of faded jeans. His large custom-made combat boots made the snow crunching beneath him.
"Jubilation. um. you're making me quite dizzy." Hank McCoy pointed out, rubbing the ridge of his nose.
She stopped with a silent "Wee" and looked at him happily, "Oh come on blue guy, it's Christmas time, can't you be at least a little cheery, and not be your boring smart scientist self? Just for a bit?"
A white clad woman strolled up to the two, but not in her usual skimpy garb the teams were accustom to, but a large fuzzy white coat, unbuttoned to show a white V-neck sweater over a long frosty skirt, lined with snowflakes. Her face was, for once, happy and actually pleasant to look into, as she calmly stopped before the two, who stared at her, looking for any signs of her usual irritable self. There was none.
"I must say Hank, this time the Christmas soirée is quite nice. I haven't seen the children this happy since last year's thanksgiving food fight and football game."
Hank's features glowed as he smiled at her and Jubilee, "Why thank you, Emma, I'm sure this Christmas will be just as memorable."
She smiled humbly at him and then turned, walking toward the mansion, "I'm sure it will Mister McCoy, I'm sure it will."
"Hey McCoy, you think you could do your tricorder thing on her, I think she's sick."
Hank groaned at the usual Star Trek comedy and picked up some snow, balling it up.
*Thwack!*
It slammed into Jubilee's head, causing her to go unsteady and fall. "Hey!"
Jubilee groaned angrily as she lay on the ground, Hank laughing lightly.
