A/N: I have been reading fanfiction for a while but this is the first one that I have decided to write/publish. A little post- Election Night fluff. The next one will be more angsty, probably. No promises.

Mac's smile kept growing as the night went on, never fading once. Her eyes were focused solely on Will, even though people kept, quite rudely, she thought, interrupting her thoughts. They would smile with her, and this made her smile grow more, because she knew she was not alone in her joy. She had all her friends with her tonight. And from this day on she would never be lonely.

Will was trying his best to be frustrated at Taylor, but he could not stay angry. Not tonight. Tonight he could not keep the smile off his face. And he couldn't concentrate on the darn show, either. When he knew that the camera panned towards Sloan, he fumbled quietly for a pen and a piece of paper. With the camera still on Sloan, he sneakily started writing, making sure to keep his head up in fear of the moment that the camera would pan back to him. He wanted to write a message to her.

What the hell was he doing? Mac could see his hand moving across the paper. He was writing something. She could tell that much. She flipped the switch on the control board that meant she was talking to just Will now. Stepping out for a moment, she went to stand in front of the camera. "What are you writing on air"

"And we're out. 1 minute back." It wasn't enough time for Will to get up, but it was something. Scribbling furiously, he finished the note, folding it, juvenilely, into a paper plane. He threw it her way. "30 seconds back." She picked up the plane, from where it lay by her feet. Slowly, she unfurled the paper, wincing as it crinkled slightly. She would walk away from the cameras, but that would mean walking away from Will. That wasn't something she was willing to do just yet.

I know I'm on air right now, but I think that this is "a great time to get a couple of things straight," cause I know, you, and you're happy, no doubt, but you're freaking out inside.

It was true. She was worried that it somehow wouldn't be true. Steeling herself, she read on.

So I want to reiterate that I love you. And I now this proposal was kinda out of the blue, so you're wondering 'Why'. You think I've hated you for years. But that's not true. I loved you from the moment I met you, and I never stopped. Not ever Mac. Not once. So if someone were to ask me, right now, what makes America the greatest country in the world, I could say "It's not the country, it's the people." See that Mac, you restored my faith in humanity. I no longer believe that "an overwhelming majority of Americans are preternaturally stupid" You proved it. But I didn't let you, not at first. And that is the fault of my own stupidity. So what prompted this, is, I stopped being stupid. And I know we're engaged now, but if you want to just do normal dating stuff, I'm okay with that. You don't ever have to be lonely again, Kenz.

I love you.

He had even doodled a little heart in the corner. it barely resembled one, but it's the thought that counts. Mac struggled to hold back her tears. She was needed back in the control room. But one more thing, first. She had to say it.

"I love you too, Billy. I'll always love you too."
