Trouble Lurking
Smoke furled out from the tip of the cigarette as he stood in the shadows, just out of sight. He couldn't let her see him. She'd ask too many questions, interrogate him. He didn't have the patience to lie to her again. The lights in the room on the third floor flickered as she climbed into bed.
"You may have kicked me out, but you can't get rid of me that easily, Slayer," he said to the silent air. He couldn't help but love her. It made him crazy but he couldn't fight it. She was always there.
