I want to make a move, but I'm scared.

Clare perused behind the paper she was examining and acknowledged that Eli already finished editing her work. She took notice that Eli was promptly getting fatigued and tried to hurry.

"Haste it up now, Edwards." Eli groaned.

Clare gave him an annoyed look and made her final mark, "Done!" And handed him his paper back.

"Clare, Poe was a harsh literary critic; how can you relate to that? Especially when you put a sad face next to my wordy sentences." Eli remarked as he scanned over his needed improvements.

Clare didn't comprehend what he was trying to imply, "I wasn't trying to relate to him. I was just expressing emotion towards his poems."

Eli glanced up from his paper and fixed his eye's on Clare's.

"That's not what I meant." He spoke with exasperation.

Clare rolled her eyes and spoke directly at him, "Then explain it."

"You're suppose to write about stuff that is personal. Expressing emotion about Edgar Allen Poe isn't personal." Clare was bothered about that word. Personal. "What's personal is personal." Clare opposed.

Eli sighed and began to object, "Not when it's a requirement." Clare felt like she was going to break down and knew that Eli could sense it; he was just edging her on to get it out of her.

"Clare, why is your work always so distant?" Eli spoke softly to her and placed his hand on hers.

Clare tried to choke back tears, "Then people would know what I'm thinking."

Eli could connect to that one, but never had he had to betray paper and pencil. "What's so bad about that, Edwards?" Clare could feel her facegetting hot and peered around the room to make sure no one was observing the little scene that was playing. "I'm not ready for the world to know about my parental issues, my cheating ex boyfriend, the sister that I haven't heard from in about a year, and my lousy feelings towards my English partner." The words barely escaped her lips before she could think about it.

Eli took his eyes off of her and he couldn't help but grin at the floor. "Someone could have the same problems." Clare didn't have to think twice, she knew mentioning having emotions for the boy in front of her hit a soft spot. "All of them?" She barely whispered. Eli looked up at Clare again and smiled, "Maybe not the sister part, and the ex boyfriend scandal, but I do have a dead girlfriend and-" He paused for a second, "I do find you quite admirable." Clare's cheeks grew warm and red at the thought of her and Eli together, and with that they both slowly leaned in and shared a concupiscent first kiss.
