He comes into the room. My eyes go wide and my mind wanders to what it would feel like to be held against his warm sweater

as he gently murmers his thoughts to me as we sit by a fire sipping honey sweetened tea.

"Good morning Vanessa!" he yells as he flies past me, always rushing to his next meeting.

"Good morning Barry!" I call back. But it's too late. He's already left the room. I sigh and contemplate my decisions

from the past few months. When we started the firm together, I just assumed we'd be starting a life together too. I gave

everything for him. My boyfriend. A spot in my shop. But he remains as emotionally distant as he had been since we'd first

met. Instead of bringing me gifts or romance, he brings in his clients. They never buy anything from me, they just drive

away any business I might get.

In retrospect maybe I shouldn't have fallen for a bee who sued the human race.
