Running
Running so fast,
as fast as I can.
I'm tired, but I cannot stop.
I gasp and pant,
but do not slow,
fear keeps driving me on.
I've been running so long,
so long, so long,
yet how long is hard to say.
But I cannot stop for if I do,
they'll catch me,
kill me,
or worse.
For what I did,
for finding out,
for fighting what they were.
A lost cause,
that's what it was,
and I knew it from the start,
and yet I fought,
and finally lost,
the battle of my life.
So now I run,
just to live,
to survive just one more day.
I hope to make it,
just for today,
and live to fight another day.
