If tomorrow all the things were taken I'd worked for all my life,

And I had to start again with just my fish tank and my wife.

I'd thank my lucky stars to be moving there today,

'Cause that leaf still stands for freedom and they can't take that away.

And I'm proud to be a Canadian where as least I know I'm free.

And I won't forget the bloodless treaties they signed, which gave that right to me.

And I'd gladly stand up next to you and run to her today.

'Cause there ain't no doubt I love that land long live the good old CA

From the draft-dodgers in Ontario, to the gay families in BC,

The dissenters in Quebec, from sea to shining sea,

From Toronto down to Ottawa and Vancouver to Calgary,

and it's time to stand and be:

...proud to be a Canadian where at least I know I'm free.

And I won't forget the bloodless treaties they signed, which gave that right to me.

And I'd gladly stand up next to you and run to her today.

'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land long live the good old CA
