A/N: Even if you hate its guts, I'd like to hear why. My last story got 400 hits and 1 review and I have no idea if it was because it's bad or just because no one bothered to click the review button. Also, I still suck at titles, so suggestions are welcome. Also, will I get laughed at if I post this on LJ?
Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Veronica almost wants to smack her when Lilly leaves the funeral home, in her overdramatic black hat and widow's dress, and drags her behind a tree, kissing her roughly. There is desperation in her hands and a shit load of guilt in her big expressive eyes, and Veronica can't help smirking against her lips.
When they break for air, Veronica asks the first thing that popped into her mind.
"The first time you fucked his father, did you pounce on him too?"
Lilly drops her hands, but her face is still frozen against the crook of her neck. Veronica slides out, and walks away, pushing her hips out in an old imitation of Lilly.
From behind her shoulders she can hear Lilly scream "You'll be back," but she doesn't bother to stop walking.

The school ostracizes Lilly. Of course. The biggest debate in the hallways is whether to call her 'the girl who fucked her boyfriend's father' or 'the girl who fucked a murderer'. For once, the gossipmongers manage to compromise and Lilly's new nickname becomes 'the girl who fucked her boyfriend's murderer'.
She does not bother switching schools. Veronica knows Celeste tried to force Duncan and her to, but Duncan made some impassioned speech about not leaving behind the few friends he has left, and once Duncan was staying, Celeste couldn't care less, and moved up to Napa with her husband happily without daughter.
Veronica figures they could have just sent her away to some boarding school overseas, but considering how sadistic Celeste is, she probably thought it would hurt her daughter more to stay in the country.
3.
Veronica plays the kind, naïve, loyal best friend to a T.
People do not bother her. She is the new Meg Manning, Meg Manning herself easily falling into the sweet, but easily led sheep, Veronica herself used to be. Sitting at lunch alone with Lilly, people frequently try and lead her away to the 09er table, saying things such as "why do you want to sit with such trash 'Ronnie?" Veronica just blushes hotly.
4.
But underneath her fingers it's a different story. Underneath her fingers and her mouth and her shiny golden hair, Veronica whispers the same things as everybody else. 'Bitch, fuck and slut,' roll as easily off her tongue, as a sarcastic 'honey bun,' and it's the only time these days that Lilly ever talks. "Please," Lilly's mouth says, "please," Lilly's hands say, and "please," Lilly's eyes bleed, but Veronica no longer knows what she's pleading for.
5.
"This is what you told me you wanted," Veronica says defensively, even though Lilly hasn't said anything. It's what she always says when Lilly goes over her scratches, and her scars.
This time Lilly smiles. This time she answers.
"Of course."
Veronica looks wary; for the first time in a long time, Lilly eyes looks as full of life as they used to.
Veronica can't bear to ask if she's forgiven herself yet.
"Wanna go another round?"
Lilly simply smiles and crooks her finger.
