"AHH!" The girl cried out as she stumbled back and landed in the shallow water. The scaly black creature hung over her, a wiggling fish hanging from its jaws as it tilted it's head up and swallowed the still living fish whole. It looked down at her, it's pale blue eyes hardly noticeable against it's pupils as they dilated into thin slits. She looked at it fearfully. It was... a merman..? It looked sort of human but the scales around it's face, neck, shoulders and arms showed it was something else. It had black fins where it's ears would be, and it had larger fins on its scaly hips and forearms. It didn't look like how she expected a merman to look. It was much more frightening. Was it going to eat her like it ate the fish?! The girl tried to slowly move back, but it hissed at her and bared its two sharp set of fangs. She yelped, and aside from the trembling of fear, she didn't move. It pulled it's large black fish tail onto the sand and over the rock she had been sitting on. It leaned forward to the point where on slip and their foreheads would bump together.
"H-Hi.." She stuttered with a forced smile. The creature looked at her oddly. Like it didn't understand what she was doing.
"I-I'm Lita.." It looked at her again before it began sniffing her. No doubt it was trying to see if she had anymore fish. It made a low rumbling noise and clicked it's tongue a few times before it grabbed her hand that held the string she used to make the line of fish.
"O-Oh.. you want fish? I-I don't have any more, but I could bring some tomorrow." Lita eyed the long sharp claws on the ends of the creature's fingers nervously. They looked as sharp as it's razor-like fangs. Thankfully it didn't look like it intended to hurt her with them. The creature grumbled in annoyance and dropped her arm before it turned and started crawling back to the water. Lita sat up better and looked at the creature almost sadly as it dragged itself back to the water and dived in without a trace of it ever being there.
"Bye..."
