Tony walked up to the mini bar on the side of the living room to pour himself a drink, scotch as usual. He opened the bottle and inhaled the scent closing his eyes. Then a small chuckle brought him back; he flickered his eyes around the room and spotted Natasha shifting from the couch onto Clint's lap smiling widely. The small scene caught his attention. The only moments when he had seen Natasha genuingly happy were when she was with Barton. He stared at them in curiosity, taking a small gulp of his iced scotch. He said something at her and she smirked wrapping her arms around his neck. Tony took another sip of his drink and tucked a hand on his pocket, narrowing his eyes at them. It was not long ago since they made public they're relationship; not that it didn't show before but now they were more open about it. Natasha leant to kiss him and tightened her grip bringing him closer. Tony made a face, 'why him?' he thought to himself.
"Get a room..." he said as he approached them in the couch. Clint held out his middle finger at him and Tony chuckled. Natasha grinned against his lips keeping her eyes closed. Normally, a girl would blush while being caught on such action but come on, she was the Black Widow. She just doesn't blush. The couple turned their heads to him.
"What's up, Stark?" Clint spoke sliding Natasha off his lap to the couch. She kept her eyes on the billionaire, her face now more serious.
"Hey, Stark" She twitched her mouth and nodded at him. Tony half smiled at her and nodded back. Natasha got up from the couch and yawned. She kissed Clint's forehead and smiled at him before walking towards their bedroom. "Don't take too long..." she called back to the archer.
"I'm coming" he replied following her with his eyes. Then he turned his head back to Tony and lifted a brow. "What?"
"I'm just curious, man..." Tony walked around to sit beside him on the couch. "How did you do that? How did you get her to open up with you?"
"Did you hear the story she told Loki? About me being sent to kill her?" he asked his body facing Tony. The genious nodded in agreement sipping more scotch. "Well, I decided not to and it costed me. I was chased, I became a target when I decided to betray my team for her. We were both runaways, they wanted us dead" he explained with his eyes staring into nothing, as if he was recalling those moments.
"Why? Why would you risk everything for a woman you didn't even know?" Tony asked scowling.
"I don't know..." Clint shrugged and thought for a moment "...I guess she reminded me of myself. I was just like her before SHIELD recruited me"
"I see..." Tony sipped his last bit of scotch "And was that it? Was that what brought you both together?"
"We bonded... in a very odd way" Clint chuckled "In those moments all we had was each other. We faced death together" he finished and got up from the couch stretching out his arms.
"I guess that's why you get a big nice smile from her and I only get one of these..." he teased mimicking Natasha's almost-smiles she always gave him. Clint chuckled and shrugged.
"Night, Stark" Clint turned on his heels and walked towards their bedroom, closing the door behind him. Tony went over the bar once again and poured another scotch on his glass, staring through the window into the lighted sky of NYC.
