Tale of a Monster Hunter

A thick, warm liquid dripped down Camilla's face and she knew it wasn't water. She gritted her teeth in frustration as the Great Jaggai heaved itself up. She had been fighting this cursed creature for hours, and still it was alive. The battered and bruised hunter released and animalistic war cry as she threw herself forward, the rage and hate gleaming in her hazel eyes. She quickly maneuvered around the monster's scarred and slid under it so she was facing its exposed, un-protected belly. Without hesitation, Camilla plunged her one of her sharpened daggers into its stomach, breathing a sigh of relief when she heard its last pain – filled roar which was now dwindling to a squeak. She smoothly rolled out from under the monster as it collapsed, defeated, to the sandy ground. Camilla picked herself up from the ground and painfully trudged toward the lizard-like figure. After re-sharpening her now blood-stained daggers, Camilla delicately carved out the meat from the Great Jaggai and plucked its beautiful orange fluorescent scales. After roasting a few chunks of meat for nourishment, she started to head back to Moga Village. She just realized how dark she had let it become, and she cursed under her breath as she picked up her pace. Her journey back to village's gate was surprisingly uneventful. However, when she turned around from her sixth sense tingling, she saw several dark figures silhouetted against the bright moon. She shuddered and tried to ignore it as she turned back around and started to head down the dirt path to the ever-nearing village when suddenly a sharp pain inflicted her head. She tried to let loose a scream, but all that came out was a low moan as she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
