Here's a short fic I put together. It's about Jubilee remembering what life is really like. By the way, this has nothing to do with my other fic, Here With Me.
-------------------------------
Jubilee was in her bedroom. She was laying face down on her bed, her check squished into the comforter.
Jubilee slowly rose, walking over to her bathroom and placing two hand on the sink tile, supporting her broken frame. She glanced at herself in the mirror and almost winced at the sight. Her eye had a black and blue bruise on it. Her lips were dry and flaky making it difficult to speak.
"Jubilation Lee, you look like hell," she spoke to her self.
As she was only in a robe, she could see the rest of her body. It was beaten and torn. But the worst part was not the pain she could see with her eyes, but the pain she held within her.
She never spoke of it to anyone, could never seem to find the right words. How do you tell someone who has known her a long time, that she's having emotional problems?
It just didn't seem right; that the happy little firecracker was sick of this world and wanted to escape the only way she knew how. By killing herself.
But she would never even attempt that, right? Jubilee was strong, she could fight it. Wolverine would have told her to fight it, with all her might.
Jubilee walked slowly out of the bathroom and picked up a letter she had been writing before she got up. She was just writing everything she knew about herself, and all her feeling at the moment. It all made sense to her. She's have to take her life, it was the only was to escape. Jubilee read the leader once more to herself. It read:
Dear Friends and Family:
I know I haven't always been there lately. My absence is only of body, but not of mind. In my mind, I have been thinking things thoroughly and I want to leave this world. I know this may seem like a selfish thing to do, but it's for the best. For me and all of you. Please don't hate me. I just need to get out of here and this is my only way. Good-bye friends, I love you, but you should just forget about me. I am nothing but trouble.
-Jubilee
Jubilee read it once more. It made sense to her. She'd had anger in her before, but now it was just sadness.
She went into the bathroom once more and picked up an exact knife she had found earlier. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, interrupting her thoughts and making her question. 'No! No! I just want to do it and get it over wit! No interruptions.'
"Go away!" she yelled at the door.
"Jubes, I wanna talk to ya fer a minute."
The gruff voice behind the wooden door was Wolverine. 'He came!' her mind sceamed with joy. For the first time in a year, she felt what a moments' happiness was like. Jubilee smiled and put some clothes on. She didn't want to make her Wolvie wait. Besides he came there for her, and her only. 'Wolverine would tell you to fight it and never give up' Jubilee's mind whispered to her. Jubilee smiled again. 'Yeah' she thought. ' I am going to fight it and I am going to win!'
She unlocked the wooden door and left with her Wolvie, talking and laughing at her mentor. She couldn't desert Wolverine. Then who would be his partner!
~The End!~
Remember suicide's not the way! I had a friend who attepted and it's a terrible thing.
