A/N: This takes place after season five (and Trouble in Tokyo).

"You're up early this morning."

Raven nodded. "I woke up early. I felt good. Better than I've felt in a long time."

"As well you should." Robin smiled. "Things have been winding down lately. And you no longer have to worry about controlling your emotions as much as you used to. You're free to feel whatever you want."

"I'm starting to see why you like the morning so much." Raven said, her eyes fixed on the rising sun. She shifted her gaze to the dark-haired teen sitting beside her. "The promise of a new day. Anything can happen." Echoing Robin's words from the previous year.

"Seems we're the only ones who like being up early." She observed.

"Uh-huh," Robin agreed. "No one could drag Beast Boy out of bed this early, that's for sure." He added with a laugh.

Raven chuckled, but was somewhat sobered at the mention of Beast Boy. "Robin," She turned slightly to face the older boy. "The final battle against the Brotherhood of Evil...it was the first time you and Beast Boy spoke to each other on friendly terms since—" She stopped.

Robin nodded. "I know."

"So what happened?"

"I'm not really sure." Robin admitted. "It's just….I don't think there were really any hard feeling between us. But things got pretty tense when I was interrogating him. The whole not speaking to each other thing wasn't supposed to last as long as it did. We both just needed time to cool down."

He sighed. "And then that temporary cool-down period turned into two-and-a-half years. I don't know how. I guess we were both too stubborn to want to be the first one to break the silence."

He smiled. "Beast Boy really is maturing, even if it doesn't seem like it. He proved that when he made the first move to rebuild our friendship."

"I used to wonder if he'd ever mature." Raven said with a smile.

"I think we all wondered that." Robin agreed.

The two friends were silent for a few moments, simply enjoying the peacefulness of the early morning.

"He likes you, y'know." Robin said at last.

Raven arched an eyebrow. "Thank you, Captain Duh." she shot back, mild sarcasm lining her voice, but her tone was much more lighthearted than it had once been.

Robin laughed again. He narrowed his eyes and smiled slyly. "And you?"

Raven looked away. "What about me?" she said evasively.

Robin said nothing, but shot her a knowing smile.

Raven gave her masked friend a halfhearted scowl, which only served to widen his teasing grin.

"All right, all right!" Raven said at last. "I like him too! Happy now?"

Robin crossed his arms over his chest and nodded emphatically. "Yep, uh-huh. I knew it."

Raven snorted and playfully punched the boy in the arm.

"For as long as he's liked you, I take it?"

"C'mon, Robin, he's liked me from the day he first met me."

Robin raised an eyebrow.

"Now stop that!" Raven protested. "I already admitted I like him. What else do you want?"

Robin's eyebrow went up another half-inch.

"Okay, fine! I've liked him from the beginning too!" It was the half-demon's turn to raise an eyebrow. "You better be careful now, Robin. Any more 'interrogating' and I might just have to send you to another dimension." she teased.

Robin held up his hands in mock-surrender and took a step back.

"So?"

"So? What?" Raven queried.

"When do you plan to tell him?"

"Robin…." Raven growled.

"Well?"

"I don't know." Raven answered sheepishly. "Soon, I guess."

"Valentine's Day is coming up." Robin suggested. "Why don't you do something then?"

Raven nodded and smiled. "Y'know Robin, I think I will."

Her gaze returned to the rising sun. "But until then…." she added with a sly smile. "I think I'll just keep him guessing."
