It had failed. Our perfectly good plan to protect Keiko, Shizuru, Botan, Yukina… Okaasan, had failed. The last of which stood no more than ten meters ahead, bleeding. Crying, bleeding. Dying.
Leaving me in a cruel, but saved, world. Not again.
Never. Never… Her delicate, skirt-covered knees ground against the sediment washed up by the recent swell of demons from the river. A tall, underfed beast stood before her, long fingers and claws doused in a bhuman girl's blood.
