Caleb felt himself abruptly sit up at the name of his charges girlfriend. The one that he didn't really care about nor trust.

"Miss Kennedy?"

"Hmm?" Nekoda puckered her lips. It was apparent she hadn't been paying attention as she had been most likely talking to Nick telepathically.

"Pearl Harbor?" Ms. Pantall repeated. Caleb felt a little pit for her, Ms. Pantall was no joker.

"Um..." At this Caleb realized Nekoda truly didn't know until he heard the words.

"December 7, 1941," It was Nick. There was no hesitance in his voice and his confidence didn't waver in the slightest. There was an unfamiliar aurora around Nick. It was protective but also fearful. What did he fear?

Ms. Pantall clenched her teeth "Thank you, Mr. Gautier,"

Nick let loose a tiny know it all smirk "Anytime ma'am,"

Ms. Pantall was no pleased "Very well," Abruptly she shouted

"The fall of the Berlin wall!"

"1989," Nick said imminently without hesitation, calmer than Caleb had ever seen him, at everyone's, especially Ms. Pantall's, stares he said "I'm good with dates, ma'am,"

A sick smirked appeared on the women's face "Are you? How good? Keep it to the year. Civil Rights Act!"

"1964."

"John F. Kennedy assassination."

"1963."

"Martin luther King."

"'68."

"Lincoln."

"1865."

"Roe vs. Wade."

"1973."

"Brown vs. Board."

"1954."

"The battle of Gettysburg."

"1863."

"Korean war."

"1950 to 1953."

"Ha!" Screamed Ms. Pantall pointing at Nick triumphantly "It ended in '52!"

The rest of the class began to laugh but Nick didn't falter.

"Uh, actually, ma'am," Nick said with a smile "It was '53."

The class became silent. Until Ms. Pantall said

"Look it up, somebody," After a pause "Quickly!"

Caleb never felt so thankful he was so fast. He flipped through his book.

"It was 19...," Caleb paused a smile coming onto his face "53."

Caleb smiled as the class erupted in cheers and he saw the blatant smugness in Nick's smile.

He couldn't help but be curious to why Nick didn't normally allow his smarts ti be seem but Caleb wasn't the sort to deep. For now he'd be proud of his friend.

His super smart friend.
