I do not own Star Trek, only the makers and the actors. Enjoy!
B'Elana Torres and Tom decide to have a little bit of fun on the holodeck, but some bizarre twist is sabotaged by Harry Kim in an attempt to get back at Tom for messing up his holodeck privileges with his girlfriend.
"Thanks so much Harry," said Marian giving her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek. Harry Kim smiled and returned the gesture. He looped his arm around hers and led her toward the holodeck where he had planned something special for her.
"What are we doing?" she asked, her eyes wide. Harry held his finger to his lips to signal silence, and said, "Activate Kim, Harry stardate one."
"Holodeck ready. You may enter," said the soft, metallic voice of the computer.
"Wow!" said Marian. They were standing on the edge of a precipice in empty space. The stars lined the ceiling, twinkling brightly back at the couple. Across the empty space swept the sound of Vulcan harp music. Marian's face was alight with elation and she looked at Harry with eyes twinkling like the stars. The music suddenly stopped and as the last note verberated the rock underneath their feet suddenly fell away and Harry and Marian plummeted down. Marian's scream turned into a laugh of delight. Harry, stunned could only flap his mouth wordlessly.
Thatwasn'tsupposedtohappen!
They fell together onto a soft blanket of grass overlooking a moonlight sunset. The rings of a planetoid could be seen through the atmosphere as well as two moons that cast light throughout the entire scene. To one side sat a blanket of silk and a picnic basket. Harry smiled and led her over to it and pulled out champagne glasses and china plates. Before too long, Harry had two plates laden with Chinese food.
"This is an old delicacy from Earth. It's Chinese food. This is Bok Choy and that's Fried Rice."
"I know I've said this already a thousand times, but wow! This is amazing Harry. Thank you so much," said Marian, reaching over and gently kissed him on the lips. Harry responded enthusiastically, and laughed. A smile broke over Marian's features too, and she hugged him, knocking him over onto the blanket. All of a sudden, a giant wave came from nowhere and soaked them both, chilling them to the bone.
"Computer, end program!" shouted Harry. Suddenly they were in a puddle of water staring up at the gray interior of the holodeck.
"You okay?" he asked to a violently shivering Marian. He scooped her up in his arms and rushed out of the holodeck.
"It's okay, I can walk," said Marian. Harry gently set her down and continued running toward Sickbay.
Tom Paris looked up in surprise at the arrival of a bedraggled Harry and Marian.
"Did you two take an unplanned swim?" he asked.
"Nope, but the holodeck malfunctioned and doused us on-"
"unexpectedly," chattered Marian. Harry nodded.
"Yeah. That." Tom ran his scanner over Marian checking for problems due to her physiology.
"You two weren't on a date now were you?" Harry flapped his mouth open and closed, but not a sound came out which confirmed Tom's suspicions.
"Well," he said, to break the awkward silence. "I'll take a look on the holo-emitters." Harry looked relieved. "Clean bill of health." Marian smiled.
"Thanks."
"Yeah, thanks Tom," said Harry. "See you around."
Once they left sickbay, Tom laughed. "Wow. A holodeck genius can't even find a glitch in his program? Then again, it's me. To think Tuvok's programs were the only fun ones to reprogram!"
