~ Aala's Past ~

Aala was born into the high ranks of Pack Society, the Alphas. Her father, a strong and proud Silver furred wolf, taught her the Ways of the Wolf and was proud of her every accomplishment, he even praise her when she failed a task. Her mother, kind and loving Snowy White wolf, taught her how to have power and use it wisely. Even though she was born an Alpha, she loved to play with the other pups and even some adults. She was known for her caring nature, carefree spirit and her unusual beauty.

Aala was born in a place where beautiful white roses bloomed everywhere, surrounded by thick trees, a type of place that some wolves would call 'Paradise'. Everyone lived together peacefully. They lived in a place where negative things, such as hate, anger and violence, did not exist. It wasn't needed.

Aala and her family lived on the edged of the woods that bordered the field of white flowers. She was the only pup in her family, consisting of only her mother and father. It was very unusual for a mother wolf to have only one pup and not a litter of, at least, 5 or 6 pups. Some of the other members thought it to be an omen of sorts; others said that Aala would do great things as she grew older. Aala had been told stories by the Elders of the pack, who told her of the place called 'Paradise' - where wolves reign and live in safety and peace. As a pup Aala believed that her home was indeed Paradise.

That was until she turned 4 years old, when strange men in hard armor came from the sky...and began to destroy everything. Chaos erupted across the field, each wolf fought to protect their families and home. Others grabbed what young ones they could and tried to escape. When these men came for Aala's family cornered in their den, her father leap out and fought them off as best he could so that Aala's mother could escape with her... Sadly, the fight between Aala's father and the strange man was quick. Her father, blind with rage, did not see the ax that slammed into his back. Aala watched in horror as her father fell, struggling to stand as blood dripped from his wound on the ground before finally collapsing. Blood quickly pooled beneath him as his eye drooped from exhaustion and blood loss. Her mother realized that her mate had fallen and became even more determined to keep their only daughter alive. As her mother scooped her up, her father used the last bit of his strength to catch one last glimpse of this beloved mate and daughter and used his last breath to whisper his final words to them. As Aala's mother leapt out of the den, she heard him whisper, "Stay strong, Aala. Stay...strong..." Aala's eyes widened in fear and sorrow as her mother turned away with a heavy heart and sprinted into the distance. Aala craned her neck in her mother's teeth to look at her father one last time as the stranger slashed him with a fatal blow and they disappeared into the forest, out of sight.

Aala's mother ran quickly through the forest, desperately trying to get as far away as possible. Fear, desperation and adrenaline coursed through her mother's veins, diving her to run faster. They didn't get far from their, now destroyed home, when one of the strange men shot Aala's mother in her shoulder. The stranger's were now in the forest, hunting down any wolf that had escaped. The wound slowed Aala's mother down greatly. Panic clawed at her mother's mind, 'I must save her'. Losing blood and speed her mother slowed to a stop and looked around frantically for somewhere to hide her precious daughter. Spotting an old hollow tree, Aala's mother thought quickly and put Aala in a hole at the base of it. Knowing that she wouldn't make it out alive, she looked at her daughter one final time, with sorrow-filled eyes, and told her "Live long Aala. Live long." With that her mother turned and sprinted away, disappearing into the trees, leading the strangers away from the last survivors hiding place.

All Aala could do was watch as her mother ran in the opposite direction of where she was, leading the strange men away from her. Scared and alone Aala curled into the back of the hollow tree and hoped that her mother would return. Then in the distance a single shot echoed through the trees; Aala knew her mother had been killed. She closed her eyes and whined quietly, as the men began to leave the woods, dragging her fallen pack behind them. Rain began to pour from the sky, cleansing the blood soaked earth and erasing all evidence of what happened. The strangers never found Aala; as she stayed in the hole for three days before finally leaving with a broken heart. She didn't go back to her homelands; she didn't want to remember them in a negative way. She wanted to remember them playing and laughing together. So she ran in the opposite direction, and disappeared into the distance. Aala decided that she will stay in a one-man (or woman) pack and search for the only place that she could think to go…. the Paradise that the Elders spoke of….
