Yakul was born on the small village of Kotan; it was a land of farming and agriculture. His mother was a strong red elk with a white stripe running down her back. His father on the other hand was killed in a hunting accident by another tribe. After Yakul was born he spent most of his time in a small pasture, eating grass and sprinting with the young of his herd. He had inherited his strength from his mother. He was becoming a strong young elk with few flaws in his structural make-up. After a few months, he had begun his training to become a hunting elk. He would carry the hunters on his back. He also had a unusually keen sense of smell, which helped with his peruse.
The elk were split up into different working categories when they were six months old. The weaker elk would become farm hands, the moderately strong elk would become hunters, and the very strong elk would venture out into the vast world with the travelers. Soon enough, after four long months of hunting and gathering; Yakul was moved up to a traveling position. He was now an illustrious young strong elk.
He was also given a rider. Yakul's rider was named, Teru, a 17-teen year old strong young man who was to be sent out to find Iron Town to obtain the iron Kotan needed to endure the cold winter months. It was December, it takes four months to get to Iron Town, and four months to get back. The ride to Iron Town was about 900 miles. This was including: sleeping, stopping to eat, and staying away from savage wayfarers who were looking for any food. They would get back just in time for winter if there travels were to be flawless. Yakul and Teru were to leave in ten days.
