A Poem for Buffy
She doesn't want to be
The hero
She doesn't have a choice,
Though
It is her fate and her
destiny
She worries one day
She will not win the fight
She puts her friends and family
In danger just because
They know her
She is a hero
Because she has the strength
And the courage and
The determination
Even when she wants to be
"Just a girl"
So she fights the fights
And manages to pull through
She's gone against the odds
Against prophecies,
Rules,
And apocalypses
She always had someone
To guide her
Even when she was otherwise
Alone
But now
Even her support is falling
Slowly
And then quickly,
All at once
And she must make it on
Her own
She is a
Hero
Not just because
She has super strength
But because she has
The hero heart
She has the brains,
The guts,
The confidence
That let her
Succeed
She is not just
A hero
She is my hero
