Riza Hawkeye lay there, dying, in the arms of Roy Mustang. She was dying for him. It was always about him. And how does he repay her!
By saying he loves her. Not only does he wait countless years, but she has to start dying before he says anything!
"I'm sorry Riza. I should have told you a long time ago. I love you, Riza." He looks at her expectantly, hoping she feels the same way.
What he gets, though, is a gunshot wound in the stomach. An identical wound to her's.
"I love you, too, you... You bastard."
Those are her final words. They die together.
She had sworn to protect him but that doesn't mean she couldn't kill him herself.
