Yui sat up in bed, her body covered in a cold sweat from her blonde
hair to her feet as she woke up from that same dream that had been
disturbing her since she turned 14. The nightmares never left. She
couldn't help but hear the constant crying of a person. She couldn't make
them out through the flames that soon engulfed them as she called out to
them. She was sure she called them by name, but she couldn't remember what
then names were when she woke up.
"Get a grip on yourself," she rebuked herself. She was a sophomore in college. Only nineteen. Why was she having these strange dreams? Her parents had sent her off to see plenty of therapists who couldn't determine why she woke up in the middle of the night screaming with cuts on her lip and bruises on her body.
She knew she had never truly forgotten her dreams, but she could never explain them to her therapists. They were so vague in her mind when she was awoke. She knew they were all the same. Somehow she knew. But she couldn't explain them outloud.
"Hey, what's wrong, Yui?" her roommate asked. It was a girl with auburn hair lying up in bed in polka-dotted pajamas.
Yui shook her head. "I-I'm fine, Miaka. Go back to sleep, we have finals tomorrow. I'm just nervous, I guess." She fell back into bed, but couldn't go to sleep as she thought of the person in her dreams. "Suboshi," she muttered when sleep finally took its hold on her.
::Warning:: This was written by a pissy, PMS-ing 14-year-old. Anyway...as you can see, this fic is slightly different than other seishi-reincarnation fics because Yui doesn't seem to remember Suboshi. There's a reason. She's not suppose to. ^^ Let's pretend they all lost their memories when they were reincarnated/brought back from the book. So that means that no one, not even the mikos, remember anything or anyone. That's all.
::Disclaimer:: Fushigi Yuugi is not mine and I am using the characters that belong rightfully to Watase Yu without her permission. I am not claiming credit (obviously since I have this disclaimer up) so I ask that Watase-san (though I doubt she'd be reading a fic someone like I wrote) not sue. This is purely for entertainment and to ease my tension with finals coming up. Arigato. Ja ne.
