I stared into the bonfire. Jinx was clutching my arm, her head resting on my shoulder. All I could hear was the crackling of the burning wood and the low sounds of the waves crashing down on the sand. This little box seemed to weigh a ton in my pocket. Around me, everyone was talking but I blocked them out. The entire gang was here-Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy. I didn't want to look out of it so I paid attention to what Beast Boy was saying.

"… and before I could even blink, my board just snapped!" Everyone busted into a laugh.

"The first time I used a board, I almost broke my face…" Robin stole the spotlight. I ran my fingers through my hair and looked back down at Jinx who was fascinated by Robin's story. Her smile was shining brighter than the moonlight and I swear she made me feel like a completely different person. When I was with her, nothing else in the world mattered but her.

Cyborg, who was sitting to my left, nudged me in the arm. "What are you waiting for?" He whispered low enough so no one would hear him. I took in a deep breath.

"Hey why don't we get weird and go skinny dipping!" I interrupted Robin midsentence. His girlfriend, Starfire, gave him a peck on the lips and whispered something that made him smile. Everyone was on board except for Jinx which I 100% expected from her.

"You know I won't get in the beach water!" She began to complain.

"And what if I just.." I lifted her so that she was over my shoulder.

"NO PLEASE STOP WALLY!" I couldn't help but laugh at her pathetic attempt to get me to stop.

"Alright alright!" I put her down on her feet. We were about three yards away from the rest of the gang who were still by the bonfire. I looked over at Cyborg and nodded. My palms got sweaty and suddenly, the temperature outside seemed to rise. I grabbed both of Jinx's hands; I heard Cyborg "shh" everyone behind us. "I … Don't freak out ok?" I didn't know how to do this, but it was happening.

"I'm not getting in the water!" She began walking away. I grabbed both her hands again and this time, knelt down on one knee. Her facial expression changed drastically.

"I love you. So much. No one has ever made me feel the way you do. I.. I've changed so much from being with you for the past three years and I know I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you. You're my princess. You're my world." I pulled out the ring from my pocket "Jinx, will you please marry me?" The next five seconds were the longest five seconds of my life. Jinx opened her mouth but tears took over.

She nodded her head up and down and finally spit out the words "Yes! Yes, yes, yes a thousand times yes!" Joy overwhelmed me, my eyes got watery. I lifted myself from the sand and kissed her. A split second later, all my friend chanted and hollered then they all came in for a group hug.

I loved this.
