Yet somehow they were almost too perfect for each other.

He became protective and her knight in shining armor.
She changed, gave up her old habits.
Not that she would to go back to them willingly.
They worked together now.
They were one and the same, as they should be.
It would be better soon, better than anyone expected.
Better than what a mad king could ever want.
Better than what a king's bastard ever could expect.
Better than what a queen's naive maiden could ever hope for.
It would all be better.
