Ben Daniels never thought he would do something like this. This was just so weird. And he was scared of it. He could handle a drugdealer. A shooting, no problem. SCORPIA, okay, that was a problem, but nothing he could not handle somehow. But this was different.
Ben checked his watch. HE should be here by now. HE was the reason Ben was afraid.
„Hi, sorry I'm late." HE was here.
„Hi Alex. I didn't wait to long."
„Why did you want to speak to me?"
Now came the complicated part. Ben could still back out. But he didn't.
„Ääää...well...you know..."
„What, Ben?"
Now or never, Ben though, and took a deep breath.
„It's about Jack. You know that we two have been dating for the last eleven month, don't you?"
Of course Alex knew. On some of their dates he even had accompanied them. They went out on simple things like eating picknick often, but sometimes they went climbing or drafting or such things. It was always fun and Alex soon became used to having Ben around.
„What, Ben" he asked now, running out of patience.
„I...I want to ask her to marry me." He then stammeled out.
Alex looked at him like he was crazy, than he started to laugh.
„You ask me for my permission for proposing Jack?"
„Ääää, kind of." Ben was relieved Alex did not want to kill him. Not that he expected that, but Alex still was one of the people who could take him out easily, so he had not been sure about the whole thing.
Alex was still laughing. „Well, my permission you have, but I can't say what Jack will say. And I'm not gonna spy that out of her. I hope you have a real romantic plan in mind."
