Will and Rachel opened the door to his apartment and she was fuming.
"I can't believe you didn't give me a solo for Regionals! How could you, Will?"
Will just shrugged casually. "I think you're thinking about this to negatively. I was only being fair. Yo've ALWAYS had a solo and I wanted other people to have a turn."
She turned to him with her hands on her hips. "That's not an excuse! You're only picking on me because you think it was MY fault we lost Nationals last year!"
"Rachel, sweetie, you're overreacting! I never thought it was ANYONE'S fault!" he pleaded.
"I don't wanna hear it! It's always been MY fault when something goes wrong in the group! ALWAYS! But THIS is low, even for you, Will!"
Tears began streaming from her eyes. "I thought you loved me!"
He desperately took her hands.
"Rachel, I DO love you, but favoritism isn't an option if you want this relationship to work! Stop being so self-centered and start thnking of others for once!"
Her eyes widened as she yanked her hands away. "Fine, if you feel that way, then I'm sleeping in the spare room tonight."
She walked away swiftly.
He sighed and sat on the couch. Should he have been so hard on her? Probably not, but still, she couldn't ALWAYS have her way.
Be strong Will, he thought. It's like raising a child...there's ALWAYS a time where you have to say "no".
Later that night, he tossed and turned in his bed. Maybe he could have been a BIT more considerate and given her a small solo. He hoped she was still asleep and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
He went into the kitchen and got his glass but when he turned around, he saw Rachel sitting at the table with a glass of water. Her eyes were puffy from crying and her face was practically red. He sat across from her sr the table.
"Can't sleep?" he asked.
She shook her head. "You either?"
He looked away from her. "Look, Rach, I'm REALLY, TRULY sorry for not beng considerate. Maybe I should have given you a bit of a solo..."
"No, Will, I'M the one who should be apologizing. You're right, I am self-centered. I should have just agreed with you in the first place. You're much wiser and know what needs to be done to win this compettion. I'm so sorry."
He sighed and walked up to her and emveloped her in a hug.
"How about this. If you PROMISE not to be selfish about solos anymore, then MAYBE I'll squeeze in a little solo for you."
She looked up at him and smiled. He wiped a tear that was falling from her cheek.
"Deal, and again I'm so sorry."
He kissed her lghtly on the lips.
"Good, now let's get to bed. Do you still want to sleep in the spare room tonight?"
She shook her head. "No, why would I want to be seperated from YOU, Will Shuester?"
He smiled and took her by the hand and led her to the bedroom where they slept peacefully in each others' arms.
Short, but sweet I guess. Hope you liked it!
