All he could remember hearing was the distance, angelic voice singing sadly.

Dreams are the mirage, even now,
They are secretly, fleetingly, blooming somewhere
Trying to run to that voice, so he could embrace the person who holds such sadness. He came across a wide open meadow filled with white lilies. Over near an elm tree he saw a figure of a girl.
She's beautiful, he thought. Her translucent silver hair glistened under the sun. Her eyes were like ice but tinted with blue. She looked so fragiled, as if she would break any moment.
He quietly walked up to the girl and put his arms around her waist. The girl sensed his warmth and began to burst into tears and sobs.
That moment seemed to last forever in the boys eyes but the girl's sobs quieted down and then ceased all together.
Like air, she completely vanished. No trace of the girl left behind. The boy faced the old elm tree which the girl had been standing at. He picked a few scattered lilies and lay the at the roots of the tree.
Solemnly looking up, he allowed his finger to brush over an old carving marked in the tree. Scratched neatly into the base of the trunk was and old poem of four lines.
"When I'm gone
I'll be here still
Dancing with the clouds
Like I always will"
He looked back towards the field of lilies and watched how they swayed in the breeze. Imagining she was still there dancing and singing her sad yet lovely song.
" I'll see you soon my love," he whispered.
He turned one more fleeting gaze to the elm tree and made his way back throught he field of lilies.
Going home to await another day of visiting his lover.
So this a sad one-shot I was working on. I don't on the song lyrics above. Copyrights go to the song makers from an anime called Mermaid Melody.
