Conner woke to Abby scream just like he had for the past two weeks. He panicked then took a deep breath before going to her room.
"Abby," he whispered at the door.
His response was her form thrashing around with a whimper. He hurried over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder, shaking her ever so slightly. "Abby, love, wake up."
She awoke with a jump then wrapped her arms around his waist, laying her head in his lap. "Conner," she whimpered.
"It's okay Ab," he said stroking her hair. "Who was it this time?"
Each night she would dream of someone in the room with the creatures, violently being tore to shreds. Most of the time it was Stephen but she said that one time it was her and another time Rex.
When she didn't answer he asked, "Was it Stephen?"
She shook her head.
"You?"
"She shook her head again.
"Rex?"
"No, you were in there this time Conner," she said wrapper her arms around him tighter, as if making sure he couldn't get away.
"Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me. Okay?"
She nodded. "I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"I keep waking you up each night. You come in here for a bit until I'm calm then you go back to your room and it takes you gods know how long to fall asleep again."
"It's fine Abby, really. Besides who needs sleep? It's overrated," he laughed.
"Tonight's was the worse," she mumbled.
"What's that?" he asked.
"Tonight's dream was the worse."
"Why's that?"
"I really care about you Conner," she said looking up at him, even if you do forget to take care of your boxers sometimes," she laughed.
He blushed a little. "I care about you too. I never really stopped. Not even when Caroline was here."
"Conner, will you stay here tonight?" she asked him.
"Sure, hey maybe you won't have any more nightmares."
She removed her head from his lap, pushed over the blankets and slid over to make room for him. He slid down next to her and covered them both with the oversized quilt. Conner pulled her closer to him so he could wrap her in a hug.
"Goodnight Conner," she whispered.
"Goodnight Abby," he said press his lips softly against hers in a quick kiss.
Abby blushed slightly before bringing her lips to his again, hesitantly. Once they were both sure the other wouldn't pull away, Conner brushed his tongue against her bottom lip asking- begging- for entrance.
Conner rolled on top of her just as there was a buzzing noise coming from the bedside table.
"Why now?" she sighed grabbing her phone and flipping it open to read the text message.
"Cutter?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"Where?"
"About five miles north of here. Giant lizard."
He kissed her once more before getting off the bed. "Come on then. Better get ready."
"Hey Conner, thanks for the past couple of weeks," she told him going over to the closet.
"You're welcome. We better hurry up though. Cutter'll be mad if we're late."
"What do you think he'd do if we didn't show up?" she asked curiously.
"Forget his dislike for guns and violence and shoot each of us then bring u back to clean it up."
"True," she laughed before he left to get changed.

I'm so sorry. I know it's bad but if I don't get rid of it it'll haunt me day and night.
Well, tell me what you think.
