Jack's body twisted in the swirling shadow suit, his limbs bending at painful angles as the darkness seeped into his bones. High peels of laughter and screams echoed in his ears as his spine cracked and threw his body backwards. In his mind he saw black liquid seeping from his jaw, agape and slack.
"JACK, JACK, JACK, JACK," It called him loud and urgent, spinning around in his head as if the voice was circling him, pressing in ever closer as it went on. He opened his mouth to answer, and his legs twitched to run, but all he could see was pops of yellow over a black canvas behind his eyelids.
"Wake up." His eyes snapped open, and met night rain. His limbs throbbed and his chest pounded at a painful rate. His breath returned to him in long, dry gasps, burning his throat and straining his lungs.
"WELCOME TO YOUR WORLD," the voice screamed from inside. He found feeling in his fingers, and he dug them into the dirt as he pushed himself up to stand. Hunched over and drenched with rainwater, he stumbled over to the side of the lake. Bright yellow eyes met him, eyes that highlighted the sickly colour of his skin, and contrasted with the stark black that covered the rest of his throbbing body. The figure in the water stared at him, before a smile curved on it's sickeningly purple lips and peels of repressed laughter escaped. The figure waved and contorted in the rain, it's eerie laughter growing louder and louder.
"Let's have a little fun…" the figure said, and he realized it was his own voice. "Lots and lots of fun for me and for them!" It's pointed teeth glinted in the moonlight beneath the curve of a vile grin.
