1000 Years

Prologue

Percy P.O.V.

It had been a year of running away from them. They were hunting my sister and I. "We have to keep going Marie! Come on you can do it!" I yelled to Marie who was trailing behind me. She was only twelve and even if our father didn't care it was my job to take care of her. The hydra chased us through the trees and we ran like Hades himself was running after us. The leaves crunched under our makeshift shoes and the small branches that stuck out from the skeleton like trees stung and cut into my bare arms.

I stopped and turned to her. "Marie! Keep running. I'll take care of the hydra. No matter what happens keep going!"

She turned to me, her eyes like little blue flames, "No. I will never leave you behind." The little girl I remember coming to camp scared and helpless was gone.

"Fine, but if I die you keep running. Do you promise?" She turned to me her little blue eyes determined.

"Okay but only because you're not going to die."

I watched as Marie ran behind a tree. Gods she had only been at camp a month when we left. My sister had some anger management issues so was only allowed to fight once. It just wasn't fair.

Shaking off the anger I focused on the task in front of me. The Caucasian Eagle flew behind us. This giant eagle is most well known as being sent by Zeus to feed on the liver of Prometheus. Yet again this eagle was sent by Zeus but instead it was after my not-so-regenerating liver. I uncapped Riptide and watched as it grew to its full length. I stuck my right foot forward, ready to pounce as the eagle sailed above my head. I jumped and slashed, just barely missing my target. Dammit! It circled back over but this time I was prepared. Leaping with all I had, I watched as Riptide gleamed in the weak winter sun then proceeded to sink into the white feathers of the dammed bird. The life faded from its' eyes and it turned into glittering gold dust.

Suddenly all I saw was black. Not normal black but a deep never ending darkness that seemed to consume all surrounding light. Then a figure bright as day appeared in front of me. The man had chocolate colored skin and wore a suit that had ever-changing stars and planets decorating the front. His eyes were a rainbow of colors that were frighteningly vivid.

"W-Who a-are you?" I stumbled through my words. Something about this guy radiated power.

"I am Chaos, Ruler of the Universe and Creator of All." He said.

"Oh, okay then." I replied rather intelligently.

All he did was chuckle as he looked me in the eye and said "Perseus Jackson. I have waited many years to meet you. You're soul has called to me since the moment you were created. Would you like to be part of my army?"

Well I have nothing to lose. "That would be great sir, as long as I can take my sister. Thank you." I answered at polite as possible.

"You're sister of course will accompany you after all I did have her created to help you. They rather screwed up on her hair and eye coloring but otherwise my apprentices didn't completely screw up," Chaos replied. "Now you must go. Your sister is worried about you." Then I woke up.

"Percy! Oh Gods Percy! Wake up!" My sister screamed at me. I could hear the strain in her voice and the wet droplets on my face. My eyes slowly opened. Then the pain came I felt like I had someone hammering on my head over and over. Suddenly all he could see was a curtain of strait blond hair.

"Yah yah! I'm fine, Annmarie!" I said as calm as I could.

"What in the Hades happened? One minute you were fine and the next you fell on the ground barely breathing!" Marie said with anticipation in her voice.

I told her all about Chaos and what he had offered. After I finished she sighed "Ok, so when are we going to see Chaos?"

Shit I thought. "Umm… I don't know. We never really got to that part."

She just shook her head and stated like she was the mature one "It's getting late, let's set up camp." Camp was a flat ground with two sleeping bags and a fire. I said I'd take first watch so she could sleep. I guess I zoned out because the flashbacks came like waves during a storm.

That day was as normal of a day as a day could be for me. My half-sister and I were lounging by half-blood hill when we saw this kid about my age come running through the borders screaming like a little baby running from a giant hell hound. I got up and pulled out Riptide, killing the beast with on fatal swipe. Later that night Stephen (screaming kids name) told everyone he did that. None of our friends believed him but the rest of the campers praised him like he was Zeus himself. So we kept our mouth closed so he wouldn't seem like a baby then the unthinkable happened. A lightning bolt appeared over his head.

It was a perfect day. I was supposed to be meet Annabeth on the beach today was our two year anniversary and I wanted today to be perfect. I know Marie didn't like her and said she was going to break my heart. I thought she just needed to warm up to her after all she had only been here a month. I was walking on the beach enjoying the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and the feel of the sand under my feet. Then I looked down the beach and spotted Stephen kissing some blond girl. I was about to walk the other way when I heard a voice that sounded just like Annabeth. I was never a nosey person but for some reason I felt inclined to follow the voices. There sat Annabeth with Stephen, making out like there was no tomorrow. So I'd like to say I kept my calm… but I didn't. I freaked out and said some not so nice stuff. Then walked away. I caught up with Marie and told her what happened. She cussed like a sailor and we walked back together to our cabin.

When we got there we saw our father with his arms crossed and he said to us "Children you have offended Stephen so you have offended Zeus. He believes that you two want to steal his crown." Dammit the little idiot told on us. "You are in danger. Please run away I don't want to see you killed. I would hide you but that might cause a Civil war so don't come near me and get out of here."

"Dad! I thought you cared!"

"Son, you're mother is dead, I have no reason left to care for you, but I thought you at least deserved a warning." Then with a blast of salty mist he disappeared from sight.

I was pulled out of the past by a blast of bright light. "Percy Jackson, Annmarie Edwards! You have been summoned by Chaos please proceed through the portal."

I grabbed Marie by her wrist and dragged her through the portal with me.
