Look who is back! I come bringing you a short little Dramione drabble. This only took like 10 minutes to write so it may not be that good. Tomorrow will bring an update of New Beginnings and possibly a Jily story. So sit back and enjoy the story!
Lightning flashed outside and seconds later there was the deafening sound of thunder. Draco was awake unable to sleep for some reason. He had already been awake when the storm started. As soon as the storm started he decided that maybe the common room would be more comfortable.
He sat in an armchair facing the window looking out at the flashing landscape. He had probably been there for a few hours and the storm still had not let up. He heard feet shuffling behind him and a chair scoot up next to his.
"Mind if I join you? I can never sleep during thunderstorms." He nodded and she sat down in the chair. A comfortable silence passed over them. Both watched the storm rage on outside neither one of them wanting to break the silence. The only noise came from the occasional clap of thunder. And it was Hermione shrieking and cowering behind her knees.
"Don't worry, Granger, it's just a storm. There's nothing there to hurt you."
She sighed, "I know but it reminds me of the bad parts of my childhood-nightmares and such-so I have never been peaceful during these kinds of storms.
"I know what you mean, but remember that all bad things will come to an end and good will ultimately shine through." As if to emphasize Draco's point the storm stopped and the clouds parted to show a full, glowing moon.
"I think that is the most comforting thing someone has ever told me, Draco." She looked at him and smiled. Both of them stood up and put the furniture back where they had gotten it. Hermione walked back to her room but before she went in she turned back to him and said, "Thanks for the company, Draco, and good night."
"You too."
Hermione and Draco weren't sure what happened that night but things never really stayed the same between the two head students again.
