Authors Note: Probably my least favorite one-shot I've written, but I need to break myself out of writers block. First piece I've written for The Magic of Ordinary Days, surprising considering it's my favorite book/movie ever. Hope you all enjoy, R&R!
Her leaving wasn't his biggest worry. Livvy was a smart woman, capable of so many things. She could easily find a way to continue her life and become someone amazing, she could even continue her career in archeology if she chose that route. He wasn't worried if she could cope, if she could survive in the world - he knew she could, with the support of her sisters. No, his biggest worry was that she would find herself back with that man.
Finding out that she had stayed in contact with that man had nearly knocked him over with shock. She had seemed content lately, even happy, there at the farm. Their farm. She had made herself at home, started decorating the house and changing things in the slightest ways, made herself at home, finally. And he'd welcomed the changes with open arms, as long as it would make her happy. But seeing that letter from Edward Brown had made his blood turn cold - why would she continue to want him? He had tried his hardest to make her feel loved, Lord knows he loved her more than he had ever expected. But still, she went after a man who deserted her, pregnant, heart-broken and alone.
And walking into that house to deliver the letter had been the hardest thing he'd ever done - he had gotten too used to having her around, too happy to come home just so he could see her. He didn't know if he survive losing another person.
He'd never loved anyone as much as he loved her. And he swore, if that man hurt her again, he wouldn't be able to keep himself from finding him and doing something he would regret.
