The Great Hall was packed with students and teachers enjoying a Friday morning breakfast. The chatter and laughter that filled the hall ceased abruptly as the doors burst open and fifth- year Gryffindor James Potter came running into the hall, his hands in the air, and screaming what sounded like;
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! LORD VOLDEMORT HAS BROKEN INTO THE SCHOOL AND IS GOING TO KILL US ALL! WE ARE DOOMMED! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! AHHHHHHHHHHH!
Chaos erupted. James had fired all of this off very quickly, but everyone had got the general idea. Various groups of students clutched each other screaming, some jumped onto the tables, a few first years began to cry, the head boy and girl ran around in circles and teachers tried to restore order.
Science fell as thundering footsteps were heard echoing through the Entrance Hall. Horrified faces turned towards the door, and half of Slytherin knelt on the ground and bowed, their faces worshipping. Horror turned to confusion as a three –man- tall thin figure wearing an Slytherin robe and a pair of sliver Muggle board shorts with a large green furry looking stain across them was where the head should've been. Professor Dumbledore laughed.
"Very ingenious, boys. Very ingenious indeed."
"Huh?" Was echoed throughout the room.
Dumbledore waved his wand and an apparition appeared before the school, hovering in the air. It showed James running into the hall and giving his speech. Dumbledore flicked his wand and apparition-James restarted his speech, but slowly, so the whole hall could hear what he said clearly
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! LORD MOLDYSHORTS HAS BROKEN INTO THE SCHOOL AND IS GOING TO KILL US ALL! WE ARE DOOMED! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! AHHHHHHHHHHH!
The Hall erupted into a mix between laughter and outraged shouting. The Slytherins jumped up and started firing hexes at James and "Moldyshorts". One of them hit Moldy in the stomach and his torso fell off to reveal the head of Peter Pettigrew. Remus Lupin struggled out of the rope and the person wearing moldy shorts on their head followed him. The shorts were removed from the shoulders revealing the head of Sirius Black. Sirius threw the shorts at someone and let out a bark of laughter as they found their target: Snivelly's face.
"HOW DARE YOU DISRUPT BREAKFAST AND TERRIFY STUDENTS!?" Professor McGonagall yelled, "I THOUGHT YOU HAD LEARNED SOMETHING FROM DETENTION BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT! USING SOMETHING SO SERIOUS TOO-"
It went on for some time. The younger students and all of Slytherin listened eagerly, but the older students from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw sighed and returned to their conversations. It was another typical Marauder breakfast.
